Julie has joined the IAB directly from our validating university Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU). Whilst at LJMU Jule held a number of different roles including Head of Study Abroad, Head of International Recruitment and Head of Academic Partnerships in which she held responsibility for all of the contractual agreements between LJMU and their partner organisations, of which we are one. Her experience at LJMU was broadranging and the move to IAB has come at an exciting time as the Institute is poised to move into the next phase of development. She is well versed in the structures and policies needed to provide effective governance, committee working, academic standards and enhancement of the student experience.
Jule trained at Bretton Hall College in West Yorkshire, the proving ground for a number of well-known people in the industry. Initially she worked in the education sector in schools and further education colleges managing drama and performing arts departments, a School of Visual and Performing Arts and in the role of Higher Education Development Manager. Julie maintained her own professional practice and development by working as a semi-professional theatre producer and choreographer returning to Bretton Hall to gain a Masters in Theatre in Education and becoming a Licentiate of the Guildhall School of Music and Drama.
“I am thrilled to be joining the IAB – I took the first phone call that asked whether LJMU would consider approving IAB as a partner of the university and have seen a brave and unique idea develop into an organisation of substance, delivering a life changing experience for students and staff alike. Thanks for giving me this opportunity IAB.”
