Albert Garrell

Born in Barcelona, Albert Garrell started his dance studies at the IEA Oriol Martorell (1997-2000) and then at the Institut del Teatre in Barcelona. In 2004, he entered the Hamburg Ballet School under the direction of John Neumeier. His professional career began in 2007 in It Dansa, under the artistic direction of Catherine Allard. In 2009 he joined the company Introdans (Arnhem, The Netherlands), and in 2012 he became part of the Staatsstheater Wiesbaden (Thoss Tanz Company), Germany. Throughout his professional career, he has danced in works by Alexander Ekman, Ohad Naharin, SJN Celis, Nacho Duato, Gustavo Ramírez, Jiří Kylián, Rafael Bonachela, Jo Stromgen, Sida Larbi Cherkaoui, Cayetano Soto, among others. Since 2015 he has worked in several independent projects, both nationally and internationally, he is a lecturer in classical and contemporary dance and the artistic director and choreographer of LAB3.14.
