what determines my tuition fee?

To determine whether you qualify for the EU/EEA/UK Tuition Fee category, the below criteria are used. You need to:

  1. Have lived in the EU/EEA/UK for three years prior to your application.
  2. Be a citizen or hold a residence certificate/card for the EU/EEA/UK for at least three years.
  3. Have not been living in the EU/EEA/UK solely for the purpose of receiving full time education.

How can i make the tuition payments?

The Tuition Fee balance can be made in one payment or three payments on given dates within the academic year.

All applicants are required to make a Tuition Fee payment before starting their course. Deadlines for Tuition Fee payments are given in the Offer Letters.

Tuition Fees are paid to the Institute of the Arts Barcelona. All financial arrangements are with the IAB, and not with Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU).

Scholarships and Financial Aid

The IAB is an independent organisation operating entirely without public funding. All students are required to pay Tuition Fees irrespective of age or background. Each student is responsible for the payment of their Tuition Fees and should not enrol on the programme unless appropriate funding is already in place.

As we are a private and small institution, financial support will be granted in a very few cases. All applicants must first apply and receive an offer to the programme, before they can be considered for financial support.

Applicants are strongly advised to consider how they will fund their Tuition Fees and living costs before applying to the IAB.

Scholarship

The IAB offers a limited number of scholarships each year. These are awarded to new students only and may be awarded for any of the IAB’s programmes. Scholarships will be offered to students identified by the faculty as having the potential to make a significant contribution to the development of the performing arts.

You therefore cannot apply for a scholarship.

A scholarship constitutes a reduction in fees, rather than a full fee waiver.

Financial Aid

Financial aid is a grant towards your Tuition Fees. If awarded, this constitutes a small reduction in your Tuition Fees. A request for financial aid can only be made once you have completed the audition process and received an offer from the IAB.

A separate financial aid application is required which can be requested once you have been made an offer. The financial aid application form must be submitted before the Registration Fee is paid. Applications must be accompanied by supplementary evidence.

other funding options

You are advised to search within your own home country for scholarships which could support you to attend the IAB.

You could also look into a private loan with a bank of your choice.
