Our Foundation Contemporary Dance course is designed to give you intense training over two-terms to develop your skills and artistry in preparation to access degree level education or help you refine your dance technique.

You will study a range of different Contemporary dance techniques and supplementary classes to develop you as a versatile and confident performer.

Strengthen the foundation of Contemporary Dance

Contemporary dance is about more than technique. It’s about curiosity, creativity and the ability to communicate through movement. At IAB, students develop the skills and versatility needed to become confident, expressive and thoughtful performers.

Training spans a range of contemporary techniques, including Release and Cunningham, alongside Classical Dance Technique (Ballet), Hip-Hop and Commercial Dance.

Students also explore Choreography and Movement Research, learning to experiment with movement, develop their own ideas and discover new ways of working as artists.

Please note

This is not a beginner course. Previous Contemporary Dance training is required to join the programme, which will be assessed during the audition process.
