Niamh completed a BA in Dance at Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 1999 and went on to perform with leading European dance companies Dance Theatre of Ireland, The Curve Foundation, Irish Modern Dance Theatre, Earthfall Physical Theatre Company and Sioned Hews Dance.
In 2001 she established her own dance company; This Torsion Dance Theatre, which received several commissions for new works from the Irish Arts Council. In 2005, she received the position of Artistic Director of the International Dance Festival; Vibrate Dance Festival. For 3 years, she held this post alongside being Dance Artist in Residence in the midlands of Ireland; teaching dance to school groups, adult groups and creating choreographies for the festival.
She has had choreographic collaborations with Independent dance artists Julyen Hamilton, Iu-Hui Chua, Anneke Hanson and Giacomo Calabrese which have led to performances in Dublin, Paris and Rome. She has had several Dance Artist residences in New York, with Movement Research Centre.
She has continued education, since 2007, in Somatic practices such as the Alexander Technique, Body Mind Centering and the Feldenkrais Movement Method. In 2010, after performing in San Francisco with Scott Wells and Dancers and in San Diego with Justin Morrison Dance Company, she trained with YogaWorks in Los Angeles and became a Certified Yoga Teacher.
Since then she has been teaching Yoga, Dance, Pilates, Improvisation, Somatic Practice, Body-Work and Creative Dance for children in Ireland, US, Spain and abroad. In 2018, she completed her MA in Dance at the IAB Institute and has since been based in Sitges, Spain.
