Ailis is a musical theatre performer and educator from New Zealand. She holds a Masters in Music Theatre from the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, London, where she researched the impact of native accent production on singing (Distinction). Ailis's performance credits include, CATS the Musical (National Tour, New Zealand), Chicago, Les Liaisons Dangereuses, The Father (The Court Theatre, New Zealand), Shortland Street the Musical (Auckland Theatre Company), Punk Rock (Fortune Theatre Company) Hairspray, The Sound of Music, The Phantom of the Opera, Mamma Mia! and many more. Ailis has enjoyed touring internationally with Educational Theatre companies and featured in Tim Bray Productions’ Pippi Longstocking. As an educator, Ailis has taught at the University of Otago, National Academy of Singing and Dramatic Arts (New Zealand), and currently lectures and directs productions at the Institute of the Arts, Barcelona. Ailis is the co-founder of the independent theatre company, Double A Productions, through which she co-produced and directed All Together Now and Ordinary Days. Ailis is currently undertaking training in intimacy direction.
