About Head Over Heels

Head Over Heels is a high-energy jukebox musical set to the iconic hits of The Go-Go’s, including “We Got the Beat,” “Our Lips Are Sealed,” and “Vacation,” along with Belinda Carlisle’s “Heaven Is a Place on Earth” and “Mad About You.” Inspired by The Countess of Pembroke’s Arcadia, this bold mash-up of Elizabethan storytelling and 1980s pop-rock delivers a vibrant, comedic celebration of love and identity.

In the whimsical kingdom of Arcadia, the Oracle of Delphi warns that the realm will lose its “beat,” the divine force that ensures its prosperity. Desperate to avoid this fate, King Basilius leads his royal court on a journey into the woods, hoping to escape the prophecy. Instead, they stumble into a whirlwind of mistaken identities, disguises, jealous lovers, and unexpected romances, where nothing—and no one—is quite what it seems.

As the adventure unfolds, each character is pushed toward self-discovery, challenging norms around gender and sexuality while learning to embrace their true selves. Ultimately, Head Over Heels reveals that the key to saving the kingdom lies not in outrunning destiny, but in accepting yourself and others with honesty, courage, and love.
