IAB Foundation Certificate

About the Programme
The one-year IAB Foundation Certificate in Dance provides the opportunity for students to develop and grow, technically and creatively as dance performers. The programme is designed for those who wish to study a one-year pre-degree programme to enhance their skills prior to application, or for those who wish to spend a years study exploring and developing their dance potential.

Intensive and Practical

The course is all about doing – learning through practice – in a supportive yet challenging environment. The IAB foundation Certificate is practical and studio based and culminates in a number of dance performances in the IAB theatre. The programme is noted for the strong tutorial support and guidance it gives its students so that they can make the correct choices as to where they wish their future training or career to develop

Across the year students will have substantial opportunities to perform, either in the IAB theatre or elsewhere. 

Future Prospects

The principle aim of this programme is to provide students with the skills, knowledge and expertise to either enter the profession directly or to gain a place on one of the Institute’s Dance degree programmes, or at other centres of excellence.

Who is the Programme For?

Normally students will be at least 18 within the first term of programme.

It is for talented and passionate students who want a year of immersive practical training across Jazz, ballet, commercial and contemporary dance in a beautiful location in one of the best-resourced performing arts schools in Europe.
