Meet Musical Theatre Lecturer Pippa Duffy

Pippa is a professional Actress, Director and Singing Teacher. She studied Drama at Bristol University and Musical Theatre at The Royal Academy of Music.

Pippa has taught Singing and Acting at top London drama schools to young Theatre professionals, including; The Urdang AcademyItalia ContiGuildhall School Of Speech and Drama, and KSA London.

Pippa has worked with City Academy London since 2009, initially as a Singing Teacher, and later Head of the Singing Department (2012).
In more recent years Pippa has been Director of their Musical Theatre, Concert and Studio Companies.

Directing Credits for City Academy Companies include: ‘Sweet Charity’ 2012, ’The Witches of Eastwick’ 2013, ’Cabaret’ 2014, ’How To Succeed in Business Without Really Trying’ 2015, ’Company’ 2015, ‘Into The Woods’ 2016, ‘Songs For A New World’ 2016 (which included Jason Robert Brown in its audience!) ‘Urinetown’ 2016, and ‘Sweeney Todd’ 2017.

Pippa also wrote and directed the pantomimes ‘Cinderella’, ‘Dick Whittington’, ‘Aladdin’ and ‘Sleeping Beauty’ for the groups.

Theatre: Spoonface in ‘Spoonface Steinberg’ Hull Truck, Tracy Beaker in Nottingham Playhouses No 1 Tour ‘Tracy Beaker Gets Real’, Jeanette in ‘Once We Were Mothers’ Richmond Orange Tree, Lily in ‘The Infant’ Les Enfants Terribles, Dorothy in ‘The Wiz’ RAM.
Pippa has sung on the soundtrack for numerous films with Metro Voices, and has also been part of Elton Johns backing Choir on his UK Tour.
