IAB is partner in the production of the monologue “Diary of a Madman” written by Chinese author Lu Xun, considered as the father of modern Chinese literature. Inspired by Nikolai Gogol’s homonymous short story, “Diary of a Madman” show us the paranoia of a madman, who sees cannibalism both in his family and the village around him, being the only normal person remained. The story is read as an ironic attack on traditional culture and a call for a new one.
The solo performance – a mix of reading, monologue and physical theatre – will premiere on Sunday 19th February 2017 at “Teatro Il Primo” (Naples, Italy), starring Vincenzo Liguori, also director with Armando Rotondi, Lecturer in Performance Theory at the IAB.
The show is produced by IDEA (Intercultural Development of Environment and Arts) and “Ad Est del Mondo –Teatri e storie da orizzonti vicini”, with the partnership of IAB, where the performance has been rehearsed, and the media partnership of AsiaExpress.
