Cult Director Takashi Miike Shooting in Sitges

Renowned for its many festivals, one of which is the world´s premiere film festival for genre cinema, Sitges also serves as a location for international cinema makers.

One of the Japan’s greatest directors, Takashi Miike (author of cults such as “Ichi the Killer”), has chosen to film his latest work in Sitges, using his stunning visual style to recreate Japan (the film is based on a popular manga, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure Diamond Is Unbreakable – an in intriguing prospect.

The project, currently in pre production and will use as locations Sitges’ historical centre (Cap de Vila in Carrer de Parallades), in a live action adaptation of the manga “Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure” by Hirohiko Araki, a Japanese 8 part comic masterpiece.

This production will be an adaptation of the fourth story arc (“Diamond is Unbreakable) and is scheduled for release in summer 2017 with a worldwide distribution.

We anticipate this film will be screened at the Sitges International Film Festival in October 2017 and that Takashi Miike will be here to present it.
