Sophie James


Sophie graduated from RADA with Honours in 2000. Her acting credits include the world premiere of Harold Pinter’s Remembrance of Things Past at the National Theatre, Romeo and Juliet (NT), All My Sons and Top Girls (Manchester Library Theatre) as well as a year on British soap Coronation Street. 

She holds a PGCE, specialising in Performing Arts, and underwent further training at the National Theatre and later the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. She has taught the RADA Shakespeare Awards and the Trinity Examinations, and has been part of the Performing Arts Faculty at both stage and secondary schools. 

While in Los Angeles, where she lived for six years, she taught on the degree programme at the New York Film Academy and was a freelance voice and text coach. Most recently, Sophie has been working with RADA as an assessor for the Shakespeare Awards.
